Two-day health forum in Uzbekistan

A two-day Health Forum took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where the ministries of health from Uzbekistan and India collaborated. The forum resulted in the introduction of Ayush medical education in Uzbekistan and the signing of over 100 MoUs between the government of Uzbekistan, health ministry, and medical institutions. Minister of State for Health Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Uzbek Health Minister Dr. Inayatova, and Dr. B. Divya S. Raj Reddy, official representative of the Uzbek health ministry to India, were among the participants. Several renowned hospitals and pharmaceutical companies from Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mumbai signed the MoUs, demonstrating the growing bilateral relations in the medical field. The signing of these agreements is expected to contribute to the progress and development of the medical services sector in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan-Germany Health Forum
The Uzbekistan-Germany Health Forum, conducted on May 26-27, 2023, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Health, Republic of Uzbekistan, and the German-Uzbek Medical Society "Koch-Avicenna". This forum aims to strengthen bilateral ties and knowledge exchange between the healthcare sectors of the two nations. Healthcare professionals, policymakers, academics, and industry experts from Uzbekistan and Germany will convene to discuss healthcare delivery models, technology, patient care, policy, financing, education, and more. The event seeks to foster partnerships, promote innovation, and share best practices. The forum is anticipated to enhance healthcare systems, patient outcomes, and cooperation between professionals from both countries.



Uzbekistan-Russia International Health Forum
During the Uzbekistan-Russia International Health Forum, more than 170 memorandums were signed between Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health and Russian counterparts. These agreements encompassed various collaborative endeavors, notably focusing on healthcare digitization, continuous medical staff education, joint academic-practical conferences, masterclasses, and scientific research. The dialogue also prioritized advancing cooperation in specific medical fields, such as neurosurgery, pediatrics, surgery, cardiology, and oncology. The forum facilitated 172 memoranda and multiple agreements, aiming to propel joint educational programs, establish Russian medical educational institution branches in Uzbekistan, attract health sector investments, and introduce innovative partnership models. A resolution was adopted by participants, highlighting the deepening and growth of mutual cooperation between the two nations.



Uzbekistan-USAID Partnership
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MoH) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have established a partnership to combat the spread of tuberculosis (TB), particularly drug-resistant variants. By enhancing the cost-effective delivery of healthcare services and facilitating access to quality diagnosis, treatment, and care, both entities aim to eliminate the prevalence of TB in Uzbekistan. This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) underscores their joint commitment and outlines USAID's potential assistance to Uzbekistan's National TB Program (NTP). USAID plans to extend support through various health initiatives, including TB Control, Challenge TB, Medicines Quality Promotion, Health Information Systems, as well as future TB-related endeavors, collectively termed "the Projects." These projects share the overarching goal of reducing TB incidence and its impact on the nation.
